Obedience Training Classes To Be Offered

Want to have some fun with your dog this summer? Suburban K9 and West Suburban Humane Society will be offering a 6 week Beginner Obedience Class and a 6 week Advanced Obedience class.

The fee for each class is $150. These classes will be held outside.

Class dates:July 29th- September 2nd. 6 people maximum per class.  Classes are on Sundays.

Basic Obedience: 9:00 am to 10:00 am

Basic Obedience Class will cover the commands: Heel, sit, down, stay and come.  The class is also great for socialization of a young dog as they will be around lots of people and other dogs in an outdoor environment.  While not a part of the formal schedule, the trainer can also discuss any other issues that an attendee is having with their dog.  This might include; potty training, jumping, nipping, etc.

Advanced Obedience: 10:15 am to 11:15 am

Advanced Obedience Class will continue to improve on the basic commands that were taught in basic obedience.  Off leash come and work around heavy distractions are generally a large focus of the class.  The class is more free form than the basic obedience class and we can work on anything that class members are having a hard time with.  For example if an owner is having a hard time passing other dogs on the street, we might spend an entire class working on that issue.
