I am a low maintenance gal that is looking for her forever home.  I am good with kids, cats and other calm dogs.  Unfortunately, shortly after I arrived at the shelter, the staff discovered that I was heartworm positive.  The shelter is currently looking for a temporary care home for me, where I can receive and recuperate from my treatment.  I will be there for a few months and once I am all better, I will be ready for adoption.  Check this site often for updates on my progress. 

***UPDATE***

The shelter did find a temporary care home for me and I have received my heartworm treatments.  This is what my temporary care home has to say about me:  "Shyla is a sweet little girl.  She loves to run and play and enjoys going for walks.  She is great with children and other animals.  She naps off and on through out the day and sleeps through the night.  Shyla is also house broken.  Shyla sleeps on her dog bed and rarely barks.  She needs someone who will give her lots of love and kisses.   Shyla has been with us since November and we have helped over some medical hurdles and now she is healthy and ready to meet her forever family.  She is truly a wonderful companion and deserves a lot of love.  We feel that she may have been neglected or abused for she is a bit skittish."
