This is where I live and if it weren't for this room, I'd be living outside. You see, I was living in an area with many outdoor cats, who have litter after litter, year after year. I was trapped by a shelter volunteer who was planning to have me spayed and released back to my yard. This is a great option for cats who are afraid of people to be taken inside, but this volunteer saw something in me that made her think I might be able to be socialized. If it weren't for the shy cat room, I would not have stood a chance, but here I am, and I have been coming out of my shell gradually. I would like to live in a home with other cats. I need a home where my people will be patient with me. It will be a slow road, but one worth going down.
***UPDATE***
After four years in the same room, I have gone to live in a foster home. I am doing very well there, still shy, but content. If you are interested in meeting me in person, click here to download a copy of the cat application. Fill out the first page and fax it back to our adoption desk manager at 630-960-9604. Once she has received it, she will set up a time for you to meet me.
